10.50 euro £8.40 Following the awesome 'The Gallery' album Dark Tranquillity upped the ante still further with this album, which contains all the elements needed for classic Swedish melodic Death Metal - high tempos, nasty fretwork with plenty of catchy riffs, a Studio Fredman production, and a healthy dose of eccentricity. All in all a classic from a time when everything coming out of Sweden sounded fresh and original, and a much more imaginative album than the band's later efforts might suggest. This is aggressive and melodic in the fine Swedish tradition now repeated ad nauseam by countless imitators. If you like the razor sharp thrust of At the Gates or Corporation 187 , then get this. |
